This elegant, well-made Strathwood Basic Elements Chaise Patio Lounge is tailor-made for soaking up the sun or relaxing by the pool. It has a unique tray table that extends to hold magazines, drinks, and other relaxation essentials. You can slide it back underneath for storage. The back adjusts to five positions from fully upright to completely reclined. For more comfort, matching cushions are available for purchase.
The bench’s slotted surface allows rain to flow through, rather than collect, to prevent damage of the wood. The piece is made from kapur wood which is a high-density Southeast Asian hardwood with excellent weather resistant properties. It is exceptionally sturdy with enough oil to repel the ravages of sun, rain and dew. The untreated Kapur will just weather to a soft warm shade of gray similar to the weathering of teak. Its original color can be maintained by simply treating it with a seasonal coat of teak oil. Also, the rust resistant hardware and mortise and tenon construction adds to the furniture’s strength and durability.

Eucalyptus requires no finishing and will not rot when left outdoors, whereas rain and sun will damage other lesser quality woods. Left untreated, eucalyptus will weather to a soft warm shade of gray similar to the weathering of teak. Sturdy mortise and tenon construction provides the highest quality joinery that will last for many years. Original color can be maintained by applying a seasonal coat of teak oil.
